Begin with a room sketch
Record the room dimensions, doors, windows, sockets, radiators and any sloping ceilings. Mark the direction doors open and where you need everyday access.
Sketch the bed, wardrobe and drawers at their complete dimensions. Include headboards, projecting handles and any doors or drawers when open. A paper or tape outline on the floor can make the layout easier to judge.
Choose your priorities
More sleeping space
Compare mattress sizes, then check the outside frame dimensions and the room left around it.
More storage
Compare an ottoman, drawers and separate furniture. Think about how often you will open each compartment.
A simpler room
Choose fewer pieces that do the jobs you actually need. Consider matching furniture by range and finish.
Check heights as well as footprints
- Headboard height below windows or sloping ceilings.
- Bed and mattress height together.
- Bedside table height and access to sockets.
- Space above wardrobes for assembly, where required.
- Drawer and ottoman opening clearance.
Build a complete shopping list
List the frame or base, mattress, headboard and furniture separately. Check which are included in each product price. Add delivery, any optional room service and removal if you need them.
Save your favourites, compare the measurements and ask about any missing detail before ordering. You can start with one room or one essential piece and add more later.
